Scenes From a Drive By (And A Question)

On any given day if you drive, walk, or run by our house, this is the sight that you most likely see.

Unless you are the mail carrier or UPS driver in which case you get the above scene accompanied by enough barking to necessitate ear plugs.

She obviously doesn't get out enough.

Now for the question for the homeschoolers out there: Have you used Apologia Science? Specifically the Zoology 1? How did you like it? Was it too much material on one subject, too little, good for older children or geared more toward the younger crowd? Any comments would be helpful!!

We have done Apologia astronomy, botany, swimming creatures and this year we are doing flying creatures. I REALLY like their curriculum. In my opinion it is geared more towards the 5th-6th grade range. We have used it any way and just toned it down for the younger grades. At first I didn't think I would like spending an entire year on one subject, but I do indeed like it because it does allow us to move at a slower pace and I feel like the info is more ingrained in her brain. I like that it is from a Christian stand point. I like that it has some hands on activities but that it is not overloaded with them. Most supplies are easy to come by. In my opinion they do a good job of making the material interesting. I don't care much for botany and thought that I would be bored for that year, but I actually enjoyed it a lot and found it very interesting.

Thanks, Tina! I thought I remembered you saying that you used it. I have been strongly looking at it for G for this year because I need something that is fairly teacher easy but does a good job of getting the information into her brain!!
