There are some changes coming our way.
It does appear that I will have a new leg Thursday and that maybe, perhaps it will be much better than the other one. I tried on the new design Tuesday and it did feel much better. Actually, it isn't a hugely different design but it is made of a new material. I am hopeful that after my skin totally heals things will be back to normal. I am so ready to walk again!!
The bigger change, however, is taking place this fall.
Several years ago, our church started a small classical school. Each year a new grade has been added. While the school is still small the teachers are great and the education that is being received by the students is top-notch.
For the longest time, we felt that homeschooling was still the path we were supposed to be on. There were times when either Jeff or I felt that perhaps we should do something different educationally but we weren't "on the same page". Sometimes, we both felt the "perhaps" but Gracen was just a little ahead of the grades that were offered at the school or we just didn't see how we could do it financially. We prayed for clear direction.
We got the clear direction! It looks as though Gracen will be attending the school in the fall. While we are thrilled that she will be receiving what we truly feel is the best education in town and are so thankful for the clear direction and the doors being opened for this all to happen, there are concerns.
Gracen is having a bit of a tough time with the thought of the change. We truly think that once she is into a groove, she will love it. In fact, I will probably have a harder time than she will!!
Our prayer is that she will embrace the change. We are praying that she will excel academically, that she will make new friends, that she will grow spiritually. We are praying that adjustments will be smooth.
We would appreciate your prayers for her as well.

Wow! Somehow I felt that the change you mentioned earlier would be related to homeschooling. What a great opportunity for Gracen. I read that Tina is making the same sort of changes. You both will be in my thoughts and prayers. I know that choice must be such a difficult one.
The choice wasn't easy but we were so thankful to have the option of the classical school. Actually, I don't think there would have even been a choice had the classical school not been in existence! It will be sad to see the homeschool years end though.
Your legacy of homeschooling and what you've done will be with her always, Dana. I have such a respect for you!
I wondered if this was the big change. I find it very interesting that we are both making homeschooling changes. I am excited to see what God will do with Gracen (and Lyndal) in their new adventures. I am praying for her and you guys. I'm also praying that your skin will heal quickly so that you can enjoy your new leg.
Praying for you all Dana! Changes are hard but can be so sweet too.
Dana (and Jeff), please know that very heartfelt prayers will be sent up from SC on your behalf. Please keep us posted as fall draws closer.
It is interesting to me that God has opened up our hearts to schooling outside the home in the same year.
