Scenes From A Four Wheeler Ride Adventure

One of my favorite things to do at my parents' place is to get on Dad's 4-wheeler and ride. There is something very freeing about it.

So, the day after Christmas, armed with my camera and a new lens to play with, I set out. And because it was still hunting season, I had to wear a very fashionable orange vest!

The picture above is looking over the pond in the direction of my grandparents' house.
I just liked how this picture turned out!
One of the deer stands--Granddaddy's, I think.
The hayfield.

After my photo taking trip, I put the camera away and went in search of more exciting things with which to occupy my time.

I found Gracen and Jordyn at my sister's house and they wanted a ride.

They hopped on and we went around the pond.

The request was made that we make one more FAST round around the yard.

I tried to turn around on the pond bank and didn't quite make it. The four wheeler began to slide down the back side of the bank. This was a place I knew I didn't want to be.

You see, it had been raining and raining and raining and...you get the idea.

I knew what was back there from my previous trip home when it had not rained quite so much and I got a little bogged down.
This time, I got much more than bogged down.

I got hopelessly stuck. In 6 inches of mud. The four wheeler was surrounded by squishy, wet, sink up to your knees mud on all sides. And there were 2 little girls on the back of the four wheeler alternating between laughter and chants of "Papa is going to be mad!"

It was a good time.

I knew that someone had to go get some help. Gracen and Jordyn stood up on the back of the four wheeler and jumped, hoping to clear the muck. Gracen made it; Jordyn almost made it.

They ran up to the house where they encountered my sister. My dear supportive sister who ran up laughing as only a younger, very annoying sister can! She called her husband to come over with his four wheeler.

My Dad came too, in rubber boots. Oh, and my husband? Yep, he came with my camera!!!
My sister is doing the "I am so happy it is you and not me" dance.

I love her so...
Between my brother in law and my Dad, the four wheeler was freed.

I didn't go for another ride.

But I will.

LOL! Beautiful pictures. Had Ally been on the back of that 4 wheeler she would have purposefully jumped into the mud and loved every minute of it. ;-)
