A New Look--And Some Randomness!

A new look for a new year, I suppose!

You ever just need a change? I would rearrange the living room furniture except I can't. Doors, air conditioning vents, and the fireplace kind of limit my options.

Gracen and I have talked a lot about change. There are some potential biggies on the horizon this year. (Right now, I can't give full disclosure about the particular type of change--soon though!)

She's nervous. As with most things, she's a lot like her mom. Change isn't easy. We've talked about seeing the changes as an adventure. She loves pretend adventures. The kind she's in control of.

Change seems to be easier for her (and for me) if we know about it well ahead and can have some time to process everything. But, it still ain't easy!

Here in the deep south, we have an extended period of cold. It hasn't been above freezing much in the last week or so.

Yesterday, the mere mention of snow closed most schools--and there was no snow.

I think they jinxed it.

And, because I live here, no post this morning would be complete without mentioning that

Alabama won the National Championship last night.

Many, many people dressed in crimson are doing the happy dance!!

For game watching last night, we nibbled on these--well, actually a modified version of these.

I didn't have jalapenos--so we dipped them in salsa which gave the kick. They were yummy!

Beef was on the menu for lots of game watchers last night but for us it would have involved a trip to the grocery store in the cold!
