Happy Anniversary

Saturday marks our 17th wedding anniversary!

I have always said that loving Jeff is as natural to me as breathing--and I think that he feels the same. But that love didn't guarantee that everything would be all roses and sunshine for us.

Something seems to happen when you put two sinners together in close quarters with a lifetime commitment to each other, and more importantly to God.

Sin, selfishness, harsh words, and lack of forgiveness all come thundering with alarming speed.

But then, the beautiful thing that that beautiful wedding only hinted at happens.

The two sinners are pulled closer to God and He in return gifts them with a bit of His grace to extend to each other.

Much more grace has been extended to me than certainly I deserve and has been much more than I could have imagined. Because of that, there is a richer, deeper, more committed love. A love that has shown us both that, truly, we didn't have a clue when we were married!

And I am so very thankful.
