My animal loving child promptly decided to pet it. It allowed that for a little while and then proceeded to hiss at her while Gracen was petting it.
I was not amused and told Gracen to leave the cat alone.
This morning I looked out our back window to find the same cat attempting to climb over our neighbor's fence.
It was licking its lips and eyeing my bird feeders.
Oh, you silly, silly cat. We shooed it away.
At lunch time, I looked out the back again to find the same cat sitting (like he belonged) under the outside table--again eyeing the bird feeders.
Feeling that I had given the cat every fair chance, I did what every good dog lover does.
I released the hounds.
And grabbed my camera.

This is Molly. Standing at a fair distance considering the cat was hunched over with ears slicked back and I could hear the hissing through the window.
I'm not an expert in cat language but am fairly certain that this wasn't an invitation to tea and bird-cakes.
Molly was not the dog I was pinning my hopes on to get rid of the
My hopes were pinned on the 65 lb.

You see the golden blur that I managed to capture as she was running. away. from the cat???
Yeah, that's where I pinned my hopes.
I am such a proud dog owner.

The cat went up the tree after I tapped on the window.
The birds at my feeder are no longer safe--and there will be no dog treats for Biscuit tonight.
Well, at least until she lays her head in my lap.
The price of being a dog lover...
