A Childhood Dream

Gracen got some cash for her birthday. She had already decided to spend some of it on clothes--but not all. After all, what is birthday cash if you can't have a little fun?

A recent trip to Target yielded a couple of these and the game pictured above--Perfection.

As she looked through the game aisle, I secretly hoped that Perfection would be the choice.

I always wanted Perfection but never got it. I don't really know why. Santa was always very generous and we usually got most everything on the list. Maybe Perfection got bested by this. Or this. Both perfect choices for the only child or, in my case, the child whose parents didn't particularly like board games!

Merlin was also handy for those imaginative times when we morphed into Kate, Kelly, and Jill. With the "hand held phone", aka the Merlin game, we were off to solve the latest crime.

I LOVED these games.

So now Perfection has entered my world. Little did I know but it is also a good game for the only child.

"Hey, see if you can beat your last time".

But, usually, she plays then I try to beat her time.

And we both jump and scream every. single. time. the pieces fly out of the board. You'd think we wouldn't--I mean after all the timer is right there--it's not as if it is a big surprise that you can't get the simple geometrically shaped pieces into their corresponding shaped holes within the allotted time.

This game could seriously cause stress--in some.

Not me though--she says while taking deep relaxing breaths and looking for the nearest piece of dark chocolate.

We had Perfection, my neighbor had Simon. I so badly want Simon! I wonder if Perfection is the root of my stress for timed games like Catch Phrase. My girls are terrified of games that make you jump. I hope one day they will like that game.. time will tell.

We have Perfection.

I always wanted a Simon but never got it.

I LOVED my Merlin game. Had forgotten all about it until I saw your picture. :-)
